Privacy Policy

Bira Edit (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates biraedit.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

You do not need to create an account or give us personal information to read the Site. We collect limited information automatically:

• Analytics data (Google Analytics 4). For visitors outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the Site is used. It collects information such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, time spent on the Site, referring URLs, and general location at the country or region level, using cookies and similar technologies. If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics is not loaded at all — we check the country of your connection before any analytics script loads, and if that check fails, analytics is not loaded either.
• Privacy-preserving analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics). We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures aggregate visits without cookies, without fingerprinting and without tracking individual visitors. It runs for all visitors.
• Hosting logs (Cloudflare). The Site is served through Cloudflare, which processes connection data (such as IP addresses) in transit to deliver pages and protect the Site from abuse, and keeps short-lived technical logs for security and performance.
• Fonts. The Site’s typefaces are hosted on our own domain. Loading them sends no request — and no data — to Google or any other font service.

We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information, because the Site does not ask you for them. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply to you.

2. How we use information

We use this information to:

• understand which content is useful and improve the Site;
• monitor Site performance and traffic;
• maintain the security and functionality of the Site.

We do not use this information to build advertising profiles about you, and we do not sell it.

3. Third-party services

• Google Analytics. Analytics is provided by Google LLC and, as described above, only loads for visitors outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. Google’s handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
• Cloudflare. Hosting, content delivery, security and cookie-less web analytics are provided by Cloudflare, Inc. Its handling of data is governed by the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
• Affiliate links. Some links may direct you to third-party retailers. If we participate in affiliate programs, clicking those links may cause the retailer or its affiliate network to set a cookie to track referrals. Those third parties have their own privacy policies, which we do not control. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

4. Your choices

• Opt out of Google Analytics. Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics.
• Cookie controls. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies, so no control is needed for it.

5. Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to DNT, and the Site does not currently change its behavior in response to a DNT signal. The protections described above — no advertising profiles, no sale of data, cookie-less analytics, and no analytics cookies at all for EEA/UK/Swiss visitors — apply to every visitor regardless of the DNT setting.

6. Your rights (California residents)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. 7. Data retention

Google Analytics data is retained according to our settings, currently configured to 14 months. Cloudflare Web Analytics is aggregate and holds no individual visitor records.

8. International visitors

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are not tracked by Google Analytics at all: the Site checks the country of the connection before loading analytics, and does not load it for those countries (or when the check fails). The only measurement for those visitors is Cloudflare’s cookie-less, aggregate analytics.

9. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above reflects the latest version.
